Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Silly tackle. Deserved red. The 'scumbag' sh*t is very rich, I have to say

Ruined the game, although it was a dangerous tackle definitely.

Oh well, thought Liverpool looked ok up until then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,232 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

I don't think any reasonable Liverpool fan can excuse that Gerrard tackle. It was disgraceful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,288 ✭✭✭✭ntlbell

Jesus, 35 mins, a goal and a red card is all it took for Utds fans to realise they were in a football stadium. Did they just get there or what?

Woops, spoke too soon, one chant and they are back out at the bars again.

Could be worse, they could sing the same two songs for 90 minutes.

It was very far from it to be honest.

    only about 10 yards;)

Pool fans: Dont embarrass yourselves with this Howard Webb shite, it's a red all day long.

there's maybe 1 or 2, maybe, who say it wasn't red.

stop trying to see stuff that's not there.

any moaning about Webb is about the controversial penalty.

Two feet off the ground from Rafael and not even a free? Joke decision.

One of the problem with football is that pundits, commentator, players, managers and fans refuse to accept the rules.
    .

No, the problem is the idiots makign the rules.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

Evenn Kenny Dalglish would admit that's a red, he just saw the replay.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,680 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

I thought it was a harsh red, it was a hospital pass by raf, I think a yellow would of been right

I thought monitors werent allowed on the side of the pitch?

This is poor game so far I feel.
It has passion yes, but lack technique.
Gerrard tackle could have broken leg, no excuse.
I hope Liverpool score so that game improve.

Yeah, still a disgraceful decision for the penalty.

Didn't think it was a red initially, no doubt in the replay though.

Two footed lunge, off the ground, has to go for that. The completely impartial Jim Beglin thinks its harsh and merited a yellow.

Juust like rafas jump at at raul only raul seen it and got out of the way

ah now, they sing one at the start, go quiet for most of the first half and harp on about atmosphere when all they do is moan about the team.

    Nasty from Gerrard.

The bitterness by Beglin is hilarious :D.

It was definitely a red as far as I could see, I just hope the others who are saying so remember the next time there's a similar tackle that hits a standing leg rather than someone already on the ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,614 ✭✭✭The Sparrow

No, the problem is the idiots makign the rules.

Is it an idiotic rule that a two footed lunge off the ground that can break a leg is banned and punished with a straight red?

Webb gives red card and penalty at old trafford shocker.

Cant really argue against the red, i just hope Webb hasnt ruined the game when he could have issued a yellow.

Good to see Kuyt has taken up Gerrard's role of keeping his head down and taking hopelessly long shots at every opportunity. This is gonna come back and bite me in the ass but it genuinely seems like Torres has just checked out completely. He's working about as hard as berbatov is at the other end and I think berba just got out his foot spa.

that is unbelievably disappointing from Gerrard. Even one down I was enjoying the performance and unusually confident about gettin back into the match. Idiot.

Same here, full speed it looked like they were both just sliding, replay showed how bad it was.

Lads get a grip. It was definite a peno. Definite red. Don'r resort to the 12 man sh!t.

I'm just happy with the performance, despite everything!!!

Howard Webb was deemed good enough to ref the WC Final .
After that peno decision I wouldn't rate him to ref my local pub team.

    Absolutely disgraceful decision .

Wait, so it was a red, but he should have given a yellow for the game's sake?

This has been a poor first half. The two big incidents have livened it up a bit.

Commentator's changing his tune about the red card, seems to agree with it after seeing the replay. After the Tiote challenge yesterday (never a red card, btw) Gerrard's fate was decided as soon as he left the ground. The game hasn't been great at all though, so at least the red card won't "ruin the spectacle".

have you not been watching this match? Berba is working very hard not only in this game but all season and considering that was my main complaint about him in seasons past he has turned himself into one of the top 10 players in the league if not top 5.

This is a game well suited for Park. Wish he was around.
