A Mate of mine's Disc crashed and he lost all his music, is there any way of synching the Ipod without losing what's on it? Or can the tunes be taken off the Ipod someway, when I look at my own the songs just come up as random filenames so I presume his is the same

Try using Winamp to get the songs off it with the correct file names (should work with iPod classics and touch afaik)

Theres a programme you can get from cucusoft that will transfer the library back into iTunes from the iPod.

Happened me abroad, my laptop went kaput...cost bout $18 or somethin...

Get him to get in touch with iTunes support, they can restore purchases from the library if they feel like it.

if you've got a PC or laptop with windows, just download 'sharepod' for free. you can use that to take everything off the ipod and put back into itunes. aswell as that, you can use it to take music off any ipod and put on your own computer. WINDOWS ONLY!
