Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Standby Flights

    Hi all,
I've got 3 weeks off as of the 21st of this month. I don't really care where I go, although I'd have a preference for somewhere cheap (South America/Asia). I've heard of people getting last minute cheap flights by turning up at the airport and taking whatever's going. Anyone know anything about this? If not, are there any other ways to get cheap flights if you don't care about the destination? Would I have a better chance of getting something last minute from Heathrow? For arguments sake, say there will be 2 people going.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bio.

Stand-by is practically non-existant for anyone but airline staff.

The only thing you'll get from turning up at the airport looking to go somewhere at the last minute is a large credit card bill as they sell you the last available seats at a the walk-up, fully flexible price.

As Buffy says, turn up at the airport and you'll pay top whack for a flight.

Your best bet is to look on skyscanner.net and leave the destination blank. This will give you a list of flights out of Dublin in cost order.
