Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Data not being seen on external hard drive

I have a Freeagent 1.5TB external HD. When I look at it in My Computer it says 1.36TB used with 1.1GB free, however, if I double-click or right click on it the folder is empty. I ran Getdataback on it which showed up a lot of bad sectors, and when completed there was nothing in the Recovery Tree. Chkdsk also fails.

I presume that's it for the drive?

Remove the 1.5TB HDD from the external case and mount the 1.5TB HDD in a PC.

Could be a faulty power supply or the case.

I think what happened to the drive is that a format was started and aborted on it. Getdataback doesn't even recognise the NTFS sector now. Sees the drive but can't perform a scan as sector 0 is 'bad'. I'm guessing that the drive itself is frigged.

I'll take it out and try mounting it internally.
