Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What birds can you hear flying past and calling at this time of year?

Sky is completely dark so cannot tell what they are.

    Thanks.

    Could be Curlew's.

To be honest it could be any one of many species that fly at night. Fieldfares and Redwings, Geese, even Rooks for an hour or so after Sunset. Curlews and Lapwings can be spotted flying after dark. Any details on what the call was like?

Thanks - sounds like a Curlew from a quick check on youtube.

Why do they fly at night? ie: other birds will fly before it gets dark.
