Citi car park in Patrick's Quay is €8/day, just across river from the bus station so not too far out really. The €50 you mention is for 24 hours presumably ?

There is a maximum charge per day probably about €20 - €25 in most of the shopping car parks.Place across the river from MQ is €10 for the day i think. http://parking.corkcity.ie/

They are obviously making parking there for over a few hours financially off putting with those rates, to keep the place for shoppers. Rightly so really.

Avoid the Grand Parade, 1.80 for the first 30 minutes (It'll take you 15 to get in and find a space, let alone shop and get back out in 30 mins), and if you go to 31 mins, it's 3.20. Monumental arse raping of a rip off.

It has also been proven that the spaces are one of the narrowest in Ireland.

Was just going to say that when I read PaintDoctors post, they are unreal small altogether. I was in there one day a year or so ago and got a space against the wall, absolutely clung the passenger side of the car to it and there was still little room between the driver's side and the next car which was parked properly. Awful hole of a place.

Now that the Citi Car Park across the road don't take the keys off folk anymore there is no reason at all not to park there, handy for SouthSiders too to go home with the South Main Street exit.

I used always go to grand parade car park, but in last year or so it's day light robbery to be fair.

Park and ride for €5 per day is hard to beat, bus every 15 mins and dropped to Parnell Place.;)

Have to agree about the grand parade was in there a couple of months ago for 2hrs15mins and it cost 8 euro, what a rip off and for a long time they had no prices displayed either.
