removing grout from tiles

    what is the best way to remove grout that was left on tiles for a very long time. it is pretty heavy in places. they are standare square tiles.

    There are plenty of tools for that. I use a dremel but you can also use hand tools. If you google or youtube it you will get a better idea.

    You can also use brick cleaner. Its great for removing or cleaning grout.
    What it does is attack the cement in the gout and disolves it. So you need to be careful using it as you dont want have the tiles lifting. Get a litre bollte in the builders providers and try it on an area. Use a kitchen scouring pad and rubber gloves. and a Scraper You put it on let it soak for a few minutes and then try and srape and scour with the pad.

    Go into any tile shop and buy the acid. Use it carefully and not to much. It will break down the grout on the tile but be careful it will also dissolve the grout lines...

    Any thing else mechanical you run the risk of scratching the tiles.
