have you tried an autofactors? They will often give you a reconditioned one in exchange for your dodgy one plus cash. I think I paid about €80 for a caliper for a mk2 golf gti

Its quite easy to rebuild them but its finding places to get the rebuild parts it the difficulty. Although unless you are doing it yourself then its usually cheaper to buy a reconed caliper.
