Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All

I upgraded my camera to the following.

    1. Canon 550d with 18-55mm kit lens
    2. Canon EF 85mm F1.8 USM Lens
    3. Canon EF-S 10-22mm F3.5-4.5 USM Lens

Thinking about getting some filters to make nice landscape pics. My friend insists I get some Lee filters. Anyone out there can recommend what filters I need. I checked the Lee website but I'm confused with the different variety :)

I'd say start off with a couple of cheaper cokin filters and then if you feel you need them get the lee filters and sell the cokin ones.

At the bare minimum you need the following:

    1. Adapter Ring - This fits to your lens and allows you to mount the filter holder to the lens. It should match the diameter of your lens.

    2. Filter Holder

    3. The actual filters themselves

Interesting. Are the Lee variety noticeably better? I also picked up my mount and Cokin filters from John gunn, good value to be had.

The lee are better but I wanted the cheaper option at the time. I don't use them a huge amount anyway. They say there's more of a colour cast from the cokin ones.

Lee filters were like gold dust last time I checked. You could try calumet, jessops or warehouse express.

Just recently got some Cokin in Hall's, Talbot Street. Cheaper than other shops in Dublin city.

Interesting shop. Lots of bit and pieces.

I had cokin filters for a while, but switched to Lee recently. Haven't had much chance to play with them yet, but I ordered them in early September (here: http://www.robertwhite.co.uk/) and didn't get them until just before Christmas  So patience is required if you do decide to order Lee filters!

Whats the price range for the Cokin ones?

Think I paid around €36 for the adapter ring, holder and one grad filter.
