I was looking for an interior motion detector light, with as much range as possible.

I found this item on the Maplin UK website. I had to ask them what range it had, and was told 30 feet.

As I had to go to Cork, I rang the Blackpool Maplin store and reserved it.

When I arrived there, this was identical to the one that I was shown, and even had the same catalogue number:

This one only had a range of 10 feet.

After driving back through the fecking ice and snow, I sent an email to the same guy who had answered my earlier query re the range, and this was his reply:
I am sorry to hear of the issues you experienced instore, unfortunately we do have numerous suppliers of this item and we are unable to guarantee which would be received.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused.

He didn't seem to get it that at least two items are being discussed, each one completely different to the other, not only in shape, but also in the detection range.

It doesn't give me any incentive to trust them in future, because I won't be certain that I'll get what I want.

It's like ordering a bag of coal and being handed a sack of spuds.:pac:
