Having lived near a canal most of my life I can say that is without doubt a rat.

Unfortunately given the area he's hiding in you might have to pull out the fridge / cooker etc and do an inspection, if he or she e has ****e everywhere then you've got a problem and you need to be on it asap.

Expanding foam in any gaps the rat might be getting in through, a few traps in that area in the video and around the house in general.

Awh that's real cute. If you look at 7:30 you will see his friend make an appearance. Maybe they're in love? You could have babies soon!

Out with the trap and it will be hard to catch him, he seems to be very wary.

I’d say you would get him handy enough.hes out sniffing around for food and eating at the flour on the tiles.a wee corner of ham with peanut butter and sorted. The second lad will probably be hard to get after the first lad gets caught.might take a few days.might be no harm get yourself a cateen op

That's not a mink, that's a Siberian Hamster, like the one Manuel had in Fawlty Towers:

You look stupid? How do you think I feel!
But thanks for your time and effort anyway.
I took down the video for now.
I'll be setting traps. I'll be getting a cat or two.

Neighbours cats bring in live rats, mice, birds and release them in the house lol

These are the prints that i thought were stoat. I focussed on the ones beside the ruler, and i think what threw me is that they must be overlapping prints. Rookie mistake! What do you guys think?

After having a second look, some of the other prints that are vissable do look more like rat prints.:o

For a more humane method, you could buy a ferret.
Rats will abandon any house/shed that has a ferret living there.

Downside is, the feckin smell off them will have you abandoning your house as well! :D
