    @sircretop

I think you need to re-read the rules of the Championship.

Specifically ones stating you must respect other racers and the person in front of you. You said in the lounge last night that you were faster around that bend in monaco than me so it was ok to ram past me.

This goes completely against the rules: The person in front has the right of way, the person behind must make a clean pass even if you're faster.
You also spinned me in at least one other race. You also said you didn't do it intentionally - doesn't matter you should be able to avoid ramming people by accident.

You also said "its only a bit of fun" - You are right it is and the more fun had by all the better. BUT for it to be fun for everyone people have to race clean and people can't feel hard done by. I felt hard done by with your tactics I'm sure others do too. I don't mind being passed - Guil passed me out cleanly but it has to be cleanly.

It has also been brought to my attention that your qualifying lap could not be done without cutting the chicane. I am not sure if this was the case but consider yourself warned if it was.

If you are not will to adhere to the rules don't race, simple as.

    So consider this a warning.

If you are caught not following the rules again your inclusion in the championship will have to be reconsidered.

He also barged his way to 1st place in the second race on the first turn

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,526 ✭✭✭✭guil

he's just a dirty driver plain and simple, he had to of cut every corner on monza aswell, he was 9 seconds ahead of me in second place, 2 laps later he jumped to 19 and i wasnt slow

hellboy, try finding the ae86 shigauno version (spelling) its easy to learn to drift the way it is with little or no mods, at first i couldnt get a drift going without the handbrake but i'm a bit better now and can usually start with a power over, just practice and take ur time
i can send the car i mentioned or the re ameniya rx7 to ya to learn in if ya want

I got a ramming penalty where i was the one rammed pissed me off. Then I couldnt corner for crap. i'll blame my pulled muscle but think i need to actually practice.

Hey guys, I'd like to join in. Do you guys change the circuit every tuesday?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,596 ✭✭✭AIR-AUSSIE

    yes we do.

You are welcome to join as long you race clean and fair and have read and understand the rules

    Rules: (A reminder)

    1.

The race track is the road between two white lines and includes the kerbs. Two wheels must remain within the white lines at all times.
I understand that accidents can happen but in qualifying be honest and invalidate your lap (by quiting free run and re-entering) if you feel you've cheated.

    2.

Respect your fellow racers. The racer in front of you has the right of way. You cannot ram him off the road or use him as a barrier to take a corner.
I realise that it is part of racing and cars will touch and there will be crashes. IF you do ram someone off the road the very least you can do is apologise after the race.

    3.

Any person who violates these rules will be given one warning, continue and will be asked to leave. I don't have the patience for bullsh!t and I'm sure no body else in the championship does either. I don't like wasting people's time waiting in a lobby while we try and deal with stuff like in Round 2. I don't have much time to play GT5. I'd like to spend the time I have racing.

    4.

I am the host of the lobby, I control the settings and regulations. You can request me to change lobby settings fine. But to keep things running smoothly I think its best for one person to do it.

Is it ok to allow the driver who you've rammed/ overtaken by crossing white lines by accident to overtake you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,596 ✭✭✭AIR-AUSSIE

Yes that would be fine. Just make sure you mention after the race in the lounge or here. So it is know that is it was done by accident and you allowed the person back in front.

If you're interested you should join. We are a friendly bunch. The rules are just there so everyone can enjoy clean and fair racing.

That would be fine. Actually, it would be nice if everyone did this. I think if we are doing this, it might be a good idea for whoever is slowing and allowing the driver behind to pass, to lay on the horn just to let them know they are sorry and they are letting them past again :D

That would seem a fair and honest way of doing it. I had that when trying to overtake guil last night, both were late on the brakes into the chicane and I had no choice but to cut it. I lifted to let him by again before having another go.

@aussie: There didn't seem to be a penalty for cutting the chicane, don't know if it would have been different had they been on strong.

hmm,i would love to do this. im in the middle of getting a ps3 for myself. Then i will look into getting the game and catching up here.

First though, how are the driving physics? Anyone here that can compare it to GTR2 on pc?

    Thanks.

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭DOHC2000E

    @Guil: Race 2, lap 3.
Didn't hit you, think we ghosted through each other to be fair. You braked late, I braked later, you made the corner and I was nowhere near, ended up cutting straight through the chicane so waited before getting back on the gas.
We were very close for a couple of laps, we even messed up the hairpin at the same time, you went in too deep and in my effort to get by I cut in too tight and thumped that little red and white wall that's disguised as a kerb.

Where can you buy one this time of night?

Driving physics are good, easy to get into but takes some practice to get good. Haven't played any PC based sims in years so couldn't really say how it stacks up against whats out there at the moment.

That's great, really appreciate that Guil, let me know whenever you want the car back. This is the first GT game I've played, before that it's only been NFS games. Thanks again Guil :D

Did something similar myself last night, I was that bad in the first race that I was about to be lapped and I pulled off the track to let all the other drivers go by. No point me making a mess of things for everyone else.

Think it referred to the week we had to repeat qualifying twice. And I missed the race also. So i was fairly pissed.

I don't seem to have put half the amount of hours ye guys have put into this game. I barely play it other than this championship.

When you are a lap down you go see through so cars can just pass right through you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,596 ✭✭✭AIR-AUSSIE

I'd say stick to Tuesday if possible. Could be a fairly low turn out otherwise with the short notice.

6 laps of Tsukuba in the Peugeot 207 GTi '07, no tyre restriction

Send me a friend request if I'm not on your list, include your boards id if different.

If there's enough interest I'd like to open up the non championship races a bit, set a PP limit, say 450 to start, and let folks use their own cars if they wish. Let me know what you guys think.

@sircretop - Absolutely no respect for other racers and so I have no respect for you. You ruined many peoples races tonight and there's no need for it. We're all here to have a bit of fun and your driving takes all the fun out of it for people.

@air-aussie/dohc - Get rid of him/her. I'm not interested in racing with them again and I'm sure I wont' be the only one with these sentiments. No voting, just a straight red card

Enjoyed tonight lads, especially as managed to get away from work for it :).

Cheers DOH for hosting did a good job, I was lucky to avoid urinbits as well.:D

@DOH with the performance points after maybe you could set three performance point limits here in the thread a week before the race so pple then have the week to sort their car out. Say three limits for each week. Could make it interesting, think its a good idea. Although I have a very limited amount of cars.

I must take a look at the relays, but in the first lap of race 2 in that second hairpin it looked like sircretop just ploughed through everyone. No need for it

Yea he started last that race so I was expecting a ram somewhere on the first lap but then I see he's past everyone already. No way you could that cleanly really.

I had to go after the first NASCAR race. Was pissed off, theyre always great. Did I miss anything else good?
