Can anybody recommend some good Irish athletic websites or blogs for following race events and results? Sites like Athletics Ireland, Run Ireland and Run direct.... Any others?

Irish Mountain Running Association is a pretty good site.

yer in the wrong forum here mate - this one's for posting about events and stuff.

Pretty much every club has it's own site with results, etc for their club - in Galway CraughwellAC, AthenryAC and GalwayCityHarriers.com are the most active. If you're talking about results then eagle AC's CARD system is good for these, or for checking out the validity of pb claims of your mates:

Thanks for the plug mrak! :)

I'm afraid CARD is a little out of date at the moment. We haven't added any results for the past 3 months or so. We're planning/working on a front-end update to make searching faster - when it first went on-line, searches using "Detailed Search" (the best search method) were quite fast - almost immediate.

However there are now 155,000+ individual results, from nearly 850 races, in the system, so that particular search method is slow to load, since the entire database is loaded as a list. The update will only load the form, so searches should be more or less instantaneous, making it much more user-friendly.
