I was disgusted when I read the report on RTE News that FCC paid 7 million euro for the site where Scoil Choilm, the VEC school, is on Porterstown Road.

Community groups were heavily divided on the issue of rezoning of the lands at Kellystown. The community had a gun held to their head because of FCC's failure to require land for schools as part of the planning permission for the developments in Carpenterstown.

The same situation is happening with the new development plan - FCC is rezoning a lot of land in Tyrrelstown in order to get land for schools in return - schools that will serve residents of Tyrrelstown, not those in the rezoned land.

Theres no need for any more houses. Theres too many as it is. Shouldn't be any more rezoning. Never mind the area simply can't cope with it. The pressure to get that land rezoned was immense. Something rotten about that.
