Is it true there's both a hare and otter sub-species unique to here?

The Irish Hare is a subspecies of the Mountain Hare. This subspecies is only found in Ireland, the major visible difference is that the Irish Hare does not go completely white in winter as the Mountain Hare does. This is due to the milder climate in Ireland the Irish Hare does not need the camouflage, changing colour uses a lot of energy so the Irish Hare saves that energy.

The otter found in Ireland is Lutra lutra which is the European Otter and though endangered is found across the continent.

Ireland also has 3 subspecies of birds (coal tit, jay and dipper) found only in Ireland.
Can these birds not fly to other countries?

The Irish Stoat is an endemic Irish subspecies, Mustela erminea hibernica!
