    Hi

I'v just got refused for a vec grant to pay reg. fees. I am entering first year and receiving BTEA. The reason I have been refused is that i studied first year of the same course in 2005 and failed. They said that this is the same as repeating the year, which is totally understandable. She said if I were studying a different course I would be eligible . When I asked will I get mt reg. fees paid next year she said I wouldnt. I'd assumed that because I never studied second year that I would qualify for this. When I rang them about 2 yaers ago there said there would be no problem because I never received anything for that year. What I want to know has something changed in the last few years. Or is this woman wrong. Thanks for any help.

As far as I know, she's wrong.

yes I think that you should be entitled to it for years 2-4

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

certainly reads like she should be wrong...as long as your making progress and have not been granted aided for that year previously then i would have thiough you would be eligible...
