    Hi there,

I am trying to find a photograph of the Tenement Houses in Lombard Street back circa. 1940's/1950's.

I am searching for it for my Uncle. He went into the General Registry Office in Lombard Street to get his birth cert. The conversation was brilliant - she asked him "Where were you born?" "Here" he replied. "What do you mean here? Here in Dublin" she asks back. "Here, as in right here" he says. "Here, as in Lombard Street?" she asks again. "Absolutely, right here as in our Tenement Building stood right here on this site where you are sitting now!!!"

I would be willing to pay to get a copy, it would make his day.

    Cheers.

Little Jerusalem is/was Lombard St West. I think the OP is referring to Lombard St East which leads onto Westland Row.

Take a look at these search results from the National Library of Ireland:

edit: only one canidate though, some hotel

You could try Dublin City public libraries who are digitising old photos. I think it's called Vanishing Dublin.

If you're in the area, call into the upstairs section of Pearse Street library where the Dublin archives are.
If it's in any book, they'll have the book, as well as some original photos.

Hi I am looking for old photos of Montpelier Hill in Dublin 7. I was born and reared there and am doing a photographic project on the folks that lived on the Hill and would love to get old photos of anyone that lived there in the 1950s, 60s or 70s, doing a now and then . Hope there is someone out there with a few photos and memories to share. thanks
