Anyone know of a clothing recycling bank/centre in the city?

I'm moving house and have a lot of clothes/bed clothes/towels etc that I wouldn't insult a charity shop with, but I dont want to just dump them in the rubbish.

    Any ideas? Cheers.

I know of ones in Douglas Court but that's probably too far.

If you're with Greenstar you can put fabrics in the recycling bin.

Yeah, Douglas is too far. Think the complex's bins are Greenstar, won't feel guilty putting them in there so!

You could give them away on freecycle:

Can't help you with a city centre bank , but there's a clothes bank in Douglas Community Park

There's one to the rear of Tesco at Wilton if that's any good.

There was one in the car park of the astroturf pitches in Churchfield (near Leisureworld) the last time I was there.

Charity shops take old clothing, linens etc as well as old footwear, handbags and belts and recycle them. They then get paid by the bag which is a good way to also donate to the charity. Just bag footwear, bags and belts separate to clothing and tell the charity shop that it is for recycling.:)

Are the clothing "bins" legit, unlike the stickers which come through the door?

I'd say once the charity labeled on the bins exists then they should be legit.

Those stickers are something else, have my plastic recycling bin plastered with them! Hoping for some vibrant coloured stickers!

I could be wrong but I think that there is/was a clothing recycling bin by the bottle banks in the car park of Douglas swimming pool. It's been a few years since I was down there some my recollection is a bit hazy and the recycling facilities might have since changed.
