Pretty horrible counter attack despite looking good at the start.

    Coleman v Johnson.

Johnson is a useless defender, if Coleman keeps running at him, eventually, they'll get a decent chance.

Yeah can see Johnson getting skinned

Brilliant cut to kenny, heads the shot, then tries the follow up and shakes his head, then up in the air when it hits the net.

Maxi could learn a thing or two from RM, dreadful miss.

To be honest, i think the goal will end up being taken off Meireles and given to Dalglish. That's the King off the mark for the season.

Lot of bitter people in this thread, quite fitting for the Everton match.

No if that was Hodgson Liverpool would now be sitting on their 18 yard box letting Everton have the ball.

Players are pros. No need for the manager to motivate them to do the basic things like give a fcuk.

Torres is a disgrace of a man.

Wanting Liverpool to lose doesn't make you bitter, it just means you don't like them :)

Fernando Torres. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Playing brilliant today.

It's been proven that this Liverpool team are completely inept at keeping the ball, yet Moyes lets them have it. Mad tactics.

Do you realise how silly you sound. If Liverpool are inept at keeping the ball then there is no reason not to let them have it as they will give it back

Kuyt and Meireles(sp) are the men today imo

    Slight contradiction here, no?

I do agree Everton are a shambles. Very poor.

Torres makes Heitinga look rubbish again, can also see JH off before the end, maybe through embarassment more than anything.

Can someone explain the merits of the short corner ?

Creates a better angle to whip a more dangerous cross in.

Can someone explain the merits of the short corner ?

pulls defenders out of box, forces them to keep a line as the offside rule comes into play (cant be offside from a corner as the ball is on the endline)... after that its a time wasting technique or a very clever set piece from the training ground

and the angle as flahavaj mentions

    Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!!

In control, pressing the matter high in their half, flinging bodies forward the times we win it from them in our half. Delighted.

Torres looks something like himself, our three in midfield are winning the battle (Spearing isn't good but man does he throw himself into the tackle), and Johnson has been in Coleman's grill anytime the Irishman has got it.

Should be ahead by more. Hopefully we maintain this in the second half.

Spearing has actually set a good tempo in midfield. He adds energy at least.

their creating more chances than normal & their playing the game in evertons half, their not camped deep in their own half like they were under hodgson

Point is he hasn't tried a leg for almost the whole season and he plays well for 1 half of football and everything seems hunky-dory.
Where was this Torres when Liverpool needed him for the past 5 months +?

    Yup!

Y'see, that's what us Liverpool fans are like. Fickle.

We are also disgraceful, disrespectful, delusional, despicable, and deranged.

We don't know anything about football, we don't know anything about how our team should be run, we don't know what's good for our club, we don't know what's bad for our club.

If you could help us out with solving any of those things it would be really appreciated.

There's a superthread called "Liverpool General Chat/Rumours" where you will find people offering lots of helpful suggestions that Liverpool fans can read. Head on over, you won't be disappointed!

Best I've seen Liverpool play in a good while. Don't watch them the whole time but they're keeping hold of the ball which is always a good sign.

Good to see Torres playing somewhat like he used to. It's depressing watching a player of his talent seem so out of sorts on a pitch. Hopefully he knocks in a few and saves my FF team from another disastrous week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,416 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Completely agree he's getting up and down the pitch. Numerous times he's been bursting a gut to get up and around Torres and give someone an extra option.

I've never cared whether people are great technically or whatever. You give 100% I'm happy. No-one is dogging it out there today. Great to see!

This is a matchday thread we're here discussing todays match, head to the Liverpool superthread for criticism of Torres you'll find plenty of it. Simple enough.
