Point is he hasn't tried a leg for almost the whole season and he plays well for 1 half of football and everything seems hunky-dory.
Where was this Torres when Liverpool needed him for the past 5 months +?

So what. We shouldn't say when he's playing well? We shouldn't be happy??

Let's face it, the actual point is that you're not happy that Torres is playing well and that Liverpool are winning.

If Liverpool can stop giving away cheap corners and free kicks we should be alright, otherwise I see Everton sneaking a goal and taking the wind out of our sails.
Torres has probably done more in this first half than in about 12 of his poor performances this season combined. I 'll leave it to someone else to argue why that's the case.

Good first half performance from Liverpool, really impressed by Meireles. I think Everton have to find a way to get Coleman more involved and go at Johnson more often.

Rodwell needs to come on for Anichebe. We need to stake a claim in the midfield battle because we're being overrun at the moment. Liverpool well worth their lead.

He played well against Chelsea too. I don't think you can say he is back until he puts a consistent run of form together. He looks interested today just like against Chelsea, see it that continues.

    Agger off for Soto.

Oh here's comes the weaklink. Agger is a big loss.

Yeah, but we're not saying he's back and that all is well. He just looks like the Torres of old today and we've got people criticising us for being happy about that!

He needs to keep his head though, having liccle swipes at Distin and Heitinga isnt the smartest thing to do. Its good to see him back to some form though, not nice to see world class players just fade away to almost nothing

Liverpool should be cruising this. Now it's 1-1. Still think Liverpool are far too intense for Everton if they can replicate first half form.

I hope the players dont get disheartened. I believe we still can push on and get another goal. We better.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,224 ✭✭✭✭SantryRed

Do you realise how silly you sound. If Liverpool are inept at keeping the ball then there is no reason not to let them have it as they will give it back

Em I don't sound inept at all thanks. Liverpool can't keep the ball under any sort of pressure. Straight away at the start of the 2nd half everton are getting in their faces and Pool are struggling straight away!

    I don't understand why they don't use man-marking, Bill

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Dad asked me the score and I said yeah its only just started so still 1-0...then the scoreboard showed at the bottom to say 1-1...typical!

How is that a free to Liverpool?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,815 ✭✭✭Charlie

So you see a future without the need for managers at all.

    Not at all.

But the problems that Liverpool have shown over the past 12 months is down to the players not doing basic things like tracking back, completing a pass, retaining the ball.

Take Torres as an example. He has just not given a fcuk. That's down to his poor attitude, not poor management.

You shouldn't need to motivate players to go out and put a shift in for a club like Liverpool.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

How is that not a free out? Lucas shived in the back as he tried to play the ball and he boots it straight out into touch!
