I'd think you could do it using Soundforge

    Hey red Dave,

This looks like what I'm looking for. Do you know if you can trace your tracks online or can you just encrypt your music.

    Cheers malletbag.

Do you mean if you've uploaded a track already onto e.g.soundcloud and then put a watermark on it after?

I wouldn't say so. I'd imagine the watermark would have to be done before the track is put up anywhere.

you'd need a server to track and to view you'd need a specialised player, usually specifically written for your own watermark... there are plugins available aswell.

digital watermarking is also extremely easy to remove.

the only real way to track your music online is to actually sell it thru a distribution channel and have it embedded with ISRC codes.

tracking free music isnt worth the costs involved.

you cant encrypt with any off the shelf audio software that i know off. you need a specialised program. embedding ISRC codes is piss easy but pointless unless you're selling.

    Hi DamagedTrax,

Do you know of any specialised program to use?

I'm just doing this as project in college, I dont have any intention in selling my music well not at the moment, so do you think its to much hassel to do alll this im not selling my music.

    Cheers malletbag

    do a google. i havent a clue.

the watermarking part isnt too complicated but the tracking part isnt something that you couls actually do for a project. unless they just want the theory behind it?

anyway google is your friend ;)

    I see thats ok.

Well the overall project is Digital watermarking for both music and images. I have to create a watermark, track it and look at the theory behind it. I have the image end of it sorted. The music not so handy.

Yeah creating the watermark is the easy part but i'm not have much luck getting info on tracking it but i'l keep searching on Google.

    Thanks for you help.
