Lap Times Contest

Gran Turismo 5 Lap Times Contest.
Just thought I'd set this up for everyone to have a go.

Basically, each week (Starting today Thursday 13/1/11), I'll post what track and what car must be used. You then see how fast you can navigate your way around the track (no shortcuts - I'll try and use tracks where shortcuts aren't possible anyway) and you post your lap times here. Obviously proof will be needed so post a video or screenshot of the time. Be honest lads!

Also, you can use whatever driving settings you want for the car.

Anyways this week's rules are as follows:

Track: Tsukuba.
Car: Lamborghini Gallardo
Tyres: Any
Modifications: None (Standard car in arcade mode)

I'll give this a lash also - maybe tonight and if not over the weekend. I will warn you in advance though that my proof might not be posted until over the weekend but I will be honest.

only did a 59.944 but that was on sport hard tyres. i'll give it another go tomorrow probably with slicks.

I got a 55.099 there after about 15 laps of trying, my excuse is that I'm not a fan of this car, and erm, the engineers set it up wrong

Is there no way of getting a screenshot or photo from the game itself as opposed to pointing a camera at the telly?
No point in uploading a shot unless I manage to get the best lap I reckon!

unless you have a capture card or something similar nocal you can't - has to be a snapshot using a phone/camera. Tight racing there with the Golfs around Monza btw!

Oh, and it's not letting me edit my original post at the moment to update leaderboard

Good time Grim. Will have a go at beating it tomorrow!

manual gears, racing soft, abs at 1, everything else except racing line off

edit: think skid recovery was on aswell

I used racing softs, abs at 1, tc at 5 and skid recovery on.

tc is what made the differance i would say ditch it as it bogs the car down horribly out of the corners

Managed a 53.541 there now with a few different settings.

Turned TC down to 3. Reckon once I get practised at no TC there's a sub 53 to be got. Had Racing Softs on. ABS 1, Skid OFF and ASM OFF.

i tried again and i used skid recovery for the first time. its basically the same as standard physics on prologue. sorry for the massive sideways picture.

Super time. Just after doing a 52.106. TC off made a big difference accelerating outta the corners. I think I nailed every corner tbh there so I doubt quicker is possible without a steering wheel perhaps....

Only 5 people put in lap times for this one. Thought it'd get around the double digits mark. Maybe next week.

I had a few goes last night, but was terrible. I then did some special events that just couldn't do before and got gold first time. Weird

You should stick in your time anyway and tell us what setup you used to see if it differs much from what anyone else did. The more you play the game the better you'll get hence getting gold first time now!
