    Greetings Paintballers,

    2011 it now in full swing and it is now time to start preparing for the paintball season. Whatever your chosen discipline is, woodsball, speeedball or both, we hope that 2011 is a good year for paintball in Ireland. The recession has hit the sport hard in the last 18 months or so with many of our fellow players finding them selves unable to partake in the great game.

    Format
    The format will be pretty much the same as last year. There will be four league events and one Cup event. Both the Cup and League are open events i.e. any team can enter any event. Obviously the teams who competes in the most league events and accumulates the most points will be crowned the league winner.

    Rules
    The 2011 rules have yet to be finalised, but you can expect them to be very similar to the IWL 2010 Rules. Same goes for Prices and squad sizes

    Venues
    We are still finalising the venues based on a number of criteria. These include their location and game zones. Venue details will be releases with in the next 10-14 days hopefully.

    The dates are the important thing for now as it gives people a chance to prepare. There is a decent amount of time in between events to allow for trainings, walk-on's and other paintball events around the country, which we hope there will be.

    Without further ado, here are the proposed dates for the 2011 Irish Woodsball League Season.

    The Dates

    Sunday April 10th Location TBC - League

    Sunday May 15th Location TBC - League

    Sunday June 12th Location TBC - League

    Sunday August 7th Location TBC - League

    Sunday September 5th IWL Cup and awards day

    There you have it folks. We hope that the dates cater to the majority of players. Obviously it is going to clash for some people, but they can not be helped.

    That is all the information on the 2011 season for now. Feel free to comment on what has been given above, and answers to any other questions will be available in due course.
