Using video phones to call home and monitor

Hi,
Anyone set up a 3g video phone so that it auto-answers when I call it.. I am hoping to monitor a remote site visually and intermittently. I could be hit for network coverage. I wont be monitoring people, so there is no privacy issue.

Anyone know of a phone where I could get it to call me, when it detects say noise of some sort... or even visual change. Perhaps there is an app for this, preferrably on android.

They are GPRS not 3G so to set them up to send larger images they would have to be set up to send an email with the image attached. 3G is scarcely available in 'remote' locations anyway. I think you might need to sort out a long term power supply

I am surprised there isn't a solution already. Nothing exactly as simple as I think it should be is showing up on the google machine.

I mean autoanswer should be a relatively simple thing in a phone. I think it activates in a lot of phones when connect to a car kit.

Video calling is already present in 3 g phones... Whats the catch with connecting these together.

Thanks for the pointers... Probably a more durable and flexible device.

I was hoping to use a prepaid phone from three for this. I keep looking.

if you connect a handsfree to tge phone you should be able to activate it not sure about video calls you also need good 3g coverage for video calls
