The Cardinals can have him, let us sort out WR first before we start looking at a return specialist.

I'm sure we're looking at more than 1 player at a time. We need a return specialist if we're losing Edelman and Wes.

I'm well aware of our other needs, but last time I checked, Jeff Demps is still a Patriot despite him going back to sprinting for the off season. So unless the Pats are píssed at him going back to sprinting, I can't see us getting anyone that would match his speed on returns.

There is the possibility that they see Cribbs as more than just a returner. He did quite well the season before last as wr. He can certainly stretch the field and its something we have been missing for a while now. With the upgrade of Brady under center over Anderson/Quinn/McCoy/Weeden and Josh as OC over Childress/Shurmur/Daboll he really could improve a lot.

Surely you feel just a little bit guilty mentioning them in the same sentence? ;)

Of course Cribbs will be 30 this summer, so once again we'll be adding a guy with creeping age issues. I'd much prefer to be going for someone like Victor Cruz (only 26), his ability and versatile route running would be an excellent addition. But I can't see it happening though.

I couldn't see where he would fit in our offense if we have Welker, Gronk and Hernandez

Sorry, to clarify, my speculation is based on a Welker not signing scenario.

Yeah he certainly would be a sweet alternative to Welker. I mentioned a couple of days ago that I believe there is an agreement in place with Welker. I think they are going to match the best offer he gets elsewhere. I think all the bluster in the media is just that.

Anyone else see the NFL Network having to apologise to Bill over Warren Sapp bad mouthing him off camera. They didn't realise his mic was still on and Sapp said some nice things about Bill :D Tut tut Mr Sapp only cementing yourself even more as a complete and utter bell end.

1st offer to Wes "Laughably Low" might as well get prepared for life without Wes at this point. He is now considering other contracts and apparently there are a few.

just been reading the same things, although some reports are saying there have been no offers from Pats to him. certainly does not sound good anyway.

Browns interested in taking Ryan Mallett off our hands. Be interesting to see what they give up.

Do you have any details on that offer?

I hope we don't go for a deal, if Mallett has a very good preseaon this year then his stock will only rise further. But if he is to go, then in a year with a weak QB draft class, they better extract blood from whoever wants him.

Nope its all over ESPN Boston and Twitter. See my last post though Welker has narrowed down his options to Denver or back to us.

Im on my phone so its a pain in the ass to try post links from twitter and what not.

Don't mind all that rubbish. I'm telling you he will be a Patriot, I just know in my heart they have a deal done that he gets the best offer matched.

That rubbish came from the usual reliable sources but it also doesn't mean he wont be a Patriot again. He tested the FA and the Broncos are the only other team in the mix now so he is now re-negotiating with the Pats and discussing contracts with the Broncos.

Its also noted the his two options now have similar Cap room so it will come down to whether or not he thinks the Broncos have a better chance of winning a bowl than us and if the money and contract is slightly better.

I don't see where you're getting your optimism from. If New England wanted him, they'd have signed him a year ago. It's gone on a bit too long for them just to be looking for a bargain.

As for Welker, with the Broncos sniffing around, why wouldn't he go? This isn't the Chiefs or the Lions. This is a Super Bowl contender. I think Welker is a Bronco.

The Ravens release Pollard, now wouldn't it be ironic if he ended up a Patriot.

Sign him for a ton of money and put him on the first plane to Timbuktu. Keep him as far away from any Patriots players as humanly possible.

I'd rather have him damaging for us, as opposed to actually damaging us. Hell would freeze over quicker though.

Welker decision expected by the end of the day...looks like Broncos I'm afraid

Schefter's use of the word decision instead of agreement might be telling, but it's no more than we deserve after fúcking around with one of our most important players if he jumps ship to our biggest conference rival.

Whatever about him going to someone ****e that will cause very little impact to us. Letting him go to the Broncos is insane. I would rather pony up than let Manning and the Broncos have him. No pun intended. Fook sake.

Seems the Patriot way these days is to make our strongest competitors instantly better. And before anyone says it Manning throwing to Welker is as good as Brady throwing to him.

Only chance the Pats have now is to call up Welker's agent and offer him a large contract as you can be guaranteed Denver are not letting him out the door a free agent.
