If an Irish registered car is exported to another EU state and then registered there with all of that member state's taxes paid, and then some time later that same car is returned to Ireland is VRT payable on it's return?

Strange one I knows, just wondering what would happen in the above scenario.

No, it goes back onto its old reg no here. A small admin charge will be payable, but no tax.
