Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The EML has been coming on in my 02 323f 2.0 sport. The main question is if the cat was knackered, would it affect the way the car runs?

Both coil packs (tending four cylinders) failed in quick succession. In the brief intervening time, the exhaust was sucking petrol causing electronic problems. After a couple of sessions at the main dealer, the mechanic couldn't determine whether it was any combination of either of the lambda sensor or the cat.

He said that if it was the cat, it would start to break down and rattle and that would prompt the next step. That was about 2 months ago. The cat hasn't started to rattle. The EML continues to come on but all along but the car ran 100%. In the last week or so, the engine has begun to run rough, like theres a miss. Does that mean I should start changing sensors now?

Not being smart but you need a mechanic with a bit of interest and know how in diagnosis, btw some cats won't rattle as they are not made of that plastery stuff :)
