First off its a certification not a qualification. The cert

If you are thinking of doing a Microsoft certification, I would recommend the MCITP.

The MCSE focus is mainly Server 2003 whereas the MCITP is Server 2008 and Windows 7.

If you look at the Certifications tab on the MCITP you will see the various job-role capabilities each cert is geared towards.

    Hope this helps.

    The short answer dunworth, nothing.

MCSE or whatever they call it these days is really designed for people who all ready are sys admin's and working with the technology all ready.

having no expirience and doing an MCSE won't qualify you to do anything but it might get your foot in the door of a lower level tech support role or it's equivlient.

But passing the exams itself what qualify you to do zip.

Then I'd say go for it, they will stand you in the future if you can back it up with tangible expirience that is related to the certs.

But on their own they're pretty useless.
