Be happy ye got off with 4 rather than the usual 6.

Why would they be happy? They had the best chances against 10 man United whos own fans said Vidic, a central defender was their best player.

Because even that is better than they usually do. Keep up.

Well normally spurs get 0 points from united, this season they got one, that's what the should be happy from.

Against a team with 10 men for a quarter of a match, how many shots did they get on target from open play?

So? They clearly won't be happy as Harry said that title aspirations were on the line today. If I was a Spurs fan, I'd say it was a missed opportunity.

Ah right, sorry, in Manchester United land, giving a footballing lesson is getting a player sent off and playing out a 0-0 draw.

That boat had already sailed, regardless of what Harry said. They didn't even have a shot on target against ten men ond only made one or two clear chances. They didn't deserve anymore than the point they got.

When you're looking up from 5th/6th a point or two below remember today.

Also Ush i can't hear you from so far down the table sorry.

I agree, but that's not what is being said.

That was an opportunity where they could have done more to push United and they didn't. Spurs should not be happy with themselves IMO.

Winning 4-0 away from home, with ten men, and having John O`Shea in goal is more of a footballing lesson.

They did keep a clean sheet though which they're usually incapable of doing so there's plusses and minuses.

Tbh, I'm not happy with the draw because we were the better team today. But a point from United is better than none.

Yeah, the minus is two points dropped at home against ten men.

IMO the biggest lesson United are showing other teams this year is even when you are not clicking as a unit, graft and perseverence can keep you on top of the table with games in hand.

We've been through this before. Challenging for the title is obviously better than not challenging. It doesn't surprise me to see you having such a defeatist attitude though.

Theres also the point that the team that comes 4th has to negotiate the minefield of the CL qualifiers.

I didn't get a chance to watch the match myself today, but can anyone tell me what Rafael did to get sent off?
Probably a few reckless tackles like usual. That lad is like a puppy dog sometimes. He gets way too over excited!

He had a bad tackle in the first half that warranted a yellow, and then clipped BAE while he was running through. It was an accidental clash, but there's no consistency in that ruling so the ref gave a second yellow.

I heard Rafael didn't take it very well down the tunnel..
Looking at the stats it sounds like Spurs were the better team but by some of the comments on here, Vidic seems to have played a big part in keeping United in the game.

I know everyone's giving United some stick for under performing but hey, as good as Spurs have been playing, they were the favourites to win today's match and they didn't seal the deal.

Happy enough with a draw as a United fan. Clean sheet is nothing to complain about either. We'll get it together before long. :)

First yellow after an overexcited tackle in the first half. On the red side of yellow actually. Professional foul in the second half.

I hope we do get it together soon. If we go through a spell of losing a couple of games, which is very possible with Chelsea home and away, Liverpool away and Arsenal away, we will find the going quite tough.
Wouldn't it really suck if what we have seen of United so far this season was their top gear.

He's a young kid, its probably going to happen a few more times again,. Its the price you pay for trusting youth. The upside is far greater than the downside, which will be ironed out with experience. He's already arguably the best RB in the league and like the Bayern match was one of the best players out there before he got the line. I love him.

Yeah, that's what I'm fearing, not to mention Champions League football in amongst all that. I think we suffered with a ridiculous amount of injury through out the season and we're doing quite well considering. Who can really complain about being unbeaten in the league so far? I wish Berba would step up a gear. I really like Berbatov when he's having a good day. Rooney is a lost cause by the looks of it. I thought we'd be lost without him but Hernandez is settling in pretty well. A bit on the young side though. Was Van Der Sar playing today? I don't even think United miss O'Shea anymore.. I know he's a native and that but, personally think the lad's a bit useless.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's doing exceptionally well considering he's 20-21 years of age. I've just noticed him rushing into tackles an awful lot lately and getting into a bit of bother.

LOL. I would like to find anyone who argues that point and swiftly direct them to a mental asylum... JOS was even first choice as RB for most of the beginning of the season. and JOS is ****e!

He's laughing at Flah for suggesting that Raf is the best RB in the league. Then saying anyone who argues that point should be admitted and then implying that Raf is crap because JOS, who is even more crap, was higher in the pecking order.

    The lad is clearly confused!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,709 ✭✭✭CR 7

Yeah, I agree with you Kimsang, Rafael is clearly the best RB in the league. You're going a bit far claiming he's the best in the world though.

He said: "He's just run in and clipped his (Assou-Ekotto's) heels. He hasn't stuck his leg out. It was Mary Decker and Zola Budd wasn't it? What can you do about that? He hasn't broken his stride."

I might be mistaken and he might have said so in a previous post, but I believe he only claimed him to be the best in the league.

Rafael is well on his way already to being a top RB, all the stupid stuff will be cut out as he gets older, he could very well be another Gary Neville, loved by the United fans and hated by rival fans.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,170 ✭✭✭Kimsang

It seems most have problems reading English... Not much I can do about that!

But suggesting raf as the best RB in the league is just plain crazy. He has a lot to prove since he hasn't played many games. He can't defend to save his life, yes he is good attacking but so is Glen Johnson and I don't see anyone calling him the best (anymore :p). [edit i guess you''d have to call him a left back now? :P)

To re-iterate an earlier point -he(Raf) wasn't even first choice for most of the season at United....
