Surf Summer Camps? Schools?

    Hi guys,
So a group of us 15/16 year olds are really interested in doing surfing during the summer after our Exams (or even during Easter doesn't matter really). Problem is, we live in the suburbs of Dublin and there waves aren't so good on the east coast apparently.
Most of us have never gone further than obsessing with australian teen shows about surf academies etc. when it comes to surfing so we're all really excited about finding a surf club where we could learn to surf.
Has anyone any suggestions? I've looked up loads of clubs but they're all on the West Coast, which sucks cos we really wanna learn how to surf. Especially me, it's something i've always really wanted to do.
So could anyone help me out please? I've been to one before, it was like Finglas surf school -or something like that- with one of my school camps when I was younger but I'm wondering if there's any better ones?

    Cheers,
    Fly. :D:o

nickybutler is banned for promoting his own business. I appreciate that the OP was asking for advice, but the forum charter is clear that commercial posting is not allowed. nickybutler knows this as it is not his first ban.

Please feel free to make objective recommendations for Fly.

Just seen Bundoran Surf Co. doing student deals: http://www.bundoransurfco.com/blog/student-surf-weekends/ I usually stay with these guys...

but you've also got: http://www.surfworld.ie/ for lessons and http://www.turfnsurf.ie/ for accommodation in Bundy.

    Standhill was covered above.

Lahinch: I stay in http://www.lahinchaccommodation.com/ - Very good place. And if booked out or for another option a local Lahinch guy just opened a new surf lodge: http://www.lahinchsurflodge.com/

I guess for lessons in Lahinch: http://www.benssurfclinic.com/ or http://www.lahinchsurfschool.com/

I think oceanics in tramore are fairly decent.Have only bought stuff from them but they seem like a nice bunch and during the summer you always see them out with kids in tramore more so than some of the other schools.Think the guy that owns the place is a lif guard or in the coast guard so I reckon you'd be pretty safe with him.

I got all my surf lessons last summer from oceanics(as did my gf). I would highly recommend them and as meatwad has said, they have loads of kids camps/courses etc through the summer.

The owner(Paul) is indeed in the coastguard and all the instructors are qualified lifeguards.

All that being said though, the other surf schools in tramore are also busy during the summer and they all cater for kids and teens. And of course tramore is a great spot for a couple of days!

My son learned to surf at a summer camp run by SurfDock in Grand Canal, Dublin 4.
