Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all

Can anyone recommend me a wireless router that i can use with my laptop. My current router is wired only. I currently have broadband with a download speed of 6Mbps. Can a wireless modem handle these speeds?
I know wireless is slower than wired but i live in an apartment with relativly thin walls so i'm hoping this won't be a problem.

    Mick.

A new router won't have a problem handling 6Mbps. I've been using a Netgear for the past few years and, although its giving out on me at this stage, i have found it very good and straight-forward to manage.

Other recommendations might be a linksys router (cisco). From personal experience i would advise staying away from Zyxel, if they are even sold anymore.

I wouldn't worry too much about slower speeds with wireless. It won't be like: at 20m away you'll get your full 5.8Mbps, at 40m away you'll get 4.5Mbps etc. It'll be a case of either getting your full 5.8-6Mbps or not getting it.

A basic 802.11g wireless router should be more than enough to get full speed from a 6Mbps line.

That doesnt mean you should only look at 802.11g routers, but basically don't worry about the speed and instead focus on value, reliability, other features, reviews etc.
