    This should be a cracker.

Both teams struggling and the Blues would love to put the boot into their bitter rivals who are in the bottom 3.

I dont dislike him (being a Villa player) as much as many others seem to but why o why is Pires starting?

These ar only possible line ups but Villa have Ashley Young and Heskey suspended, Sidwell is gone, Makoun needs work permit and Ireland is injured

Why is Cuellar dropped? Apart from that the team is not too bad. But we need a big game from Carew, not sure if he can manage that having been out of action for a while.

I have a very bad feeling about today.

    2 big calls there IMO.

Carew in - will he be bothered
Cueller out - Pressure on Collins and Dunne to perform now, Cueller has been sound over the last few games

What's the story with Dann for the blues? Injured/suspended. Either way it gives Villa a chance as the Dann/Johnson partnership has been very, very steady for Birmingham all season, with Ridgewell playing well at LB. Ridgewell in centre now and if I remember correctly doesn't Ridgewell have a bit of a history of OGs. Maybe he's still a Villa sleeper agent.

Out for the season after injury sustained in West Ham game. Our defence is rubbish today with Murphy at LB and Ridgewell is not the best CB anymore. Should be plenty of opportunities for Villa to unlock the defence.

Sky Sports just announced Gabby on the left, Downing supporting Carew in front.....

Ehmm I'm guessing they're guessing wrong!

Concerned about Dunne - Collins and not sure about Carews attitude, need big performance's from them all today.

Maybe not. Gabby has been played on the left for the last couple of games

I know but that was because Ash Young wanted to be a striker. Worrying if Gabby is now behind Heskey, Young and Downing as a forward. Really need Gabby to start scoring, Carew is flaky and Heskey is Heskey

    Edit:

FFS what a chance! If Gabby had confidence that was in!

Gabby is on the left and should have scored there

big brads 250th consecutive prem game, what a man. Time for a big Derby win followed by Villa being joined by Makoun and others hopefully as Villa start a turn around. thinking positive.

Gabby close, positive start, come on Villa!

Good start for villa, should be one up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Jesus what is Foster doing? Agbon should've buried it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Defence looks nervy, need to calm down and pass it around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,125 ✭✭✭Patser

Looks like lots of empty seats - and not just in the safety zone beside the Villa fans. Worrying for Birmingham if they can;t fill the stadium against Villa in a crunch game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Both teams look up for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,518 ✭✭✭matrim

Crowd getting on Albrightons back trying to rile him up on his first derby

Maybe they have the first few rows closed off....altho seems to be random people in them. Funny cos lad just sitting on his own with nobody near him.

    Crossbar by Villa.

I suppose Gabby on the left targeting Carr makes sense in a way.

be funny if he stuck in a hat-trick../be good for me as I have him in my FL team.

Carew header off the crossbar again! foul though i see. Not impressed by the Villa backline so far, looking ropey and nervous all over except for Walker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Ah ffs Derbyshire, should have buried it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

What a chance! Should have at least got a touch. Why did Birmingham lad have no number on his back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

3 times off crossbar for Villa (albeit one being the foul). A good ol' derby match.

I reckon this will finish 2-0to villa.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Gardner had a blood injury so had to get a new jersey.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

It's Gardner and he had a blood injury.

Birminghams crossbar heading for 3 bonus points in FF.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Please stay on Derbyshire do not want Zigic on till the end

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,362 ✭✭✭OneColdHand

Far to easy for Birmingham to manufacture that chance

Bentley getting kicked everytime he gets the ball!

    This Faw-hee talk:mad:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

    They have been given!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,125 ✭✭✭Patser

Villa have gone very negative and all long balls. Giving Birmingham the chance to control the game.

    Petrov has been v quiet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Penalty could have been given but not surprised that it was not, derby game could be a contentious decision.

No way, he barely touched him. More of a tangling of legs than anything.

    lads hows marc playing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,125 ✭✭✭Patser

Alright, just hit a shot wide.

Walker probably our most positive player. Birmingham targeting Clark at LB

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,362 ✭✭✭OneColdHand

Just got a good shot away there from the edge of the box. Apart from that not seen too much of it.
