Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

9 speed Chainset compatible with 10 speed

    Guys

    Is there a difference between a 9 speed chainset and a 10 speed chainset,Can i run a 9 speed chainset with a 10 speed setup?eg 10 speed rear mech,front mech and 10 speed cassette without any problems?

    A 9 speed chainset will work fine in a 10 speed drivetrain. Furthermore, branding doesn't really matter e.g. a campag chainset will work fine in an otherwise Shimano setup etc...

    Thanks for that,its good to know I can pick up a 9 speed chainset a lot cheaper.

    And you'll even see brake calipers labelled 8,9 or 10 speed!
