Hi. I was just wondering what LC Religion textbook do you recommend getting? I've been living off of my teacher's notes but I'd really prefer to study through a textbook, that's just me.

    Thanks in advance!

For the LC R.E. Exam I presume you mean?
Think there's only the one set of books-those that are published by Veritas. There's a set of little books-one on each Section. Teacher Book also available.

You wouldn't happen to know if there's a singular book that covers the whole course?

    I'm not a 100% sure but I don't think there is.
In that Veritas series A, E, F, G, H, I and J have their own book. B, C and D are together in one book.
You may find this web-site useful as there are resources for LC RE http://www.ress.ie/ e.g. http://www.ress.ie/leaving_res_eng_a.html
    Good luck!

I know this is old but in case you haven't bought them yet I thought I'd warn you that they're the worst text books I've ever seen in my life. Its as if they were written by a committee of people playing that game where everyone writes a sentence and ta-dah you have a story. Your teachers notes are probably much better.

Totally agree with you Framble. They are possibly the worst text books ever, not enough information at all, and the information that is there is irrelevant.

Yep, apparently Veritas are the only publishers to do LC Religion books.
We were told to buy the Search for Meaning and Christianity ones, and it's the most useless thing I've ever seen. It's so unclear, and if you knew everything that was mentioned in them, the lack of details mean you'd probably be lucky to get a B. We never use them - my teacher suffices the problem by giving us hundreds of handouts instead :p, which are impossible to keep track of, of course. Why must the course be so confusing?

I'm doing it outside school and I have those textbooks. They're awful! I have downloaded the RE syllabus and make my own notes from it. They have a list of outcomes (these are the only Qs they can ask you in the exam) and I do a 2 and a half page essay out on each outcome using the books, online notes (e.g www.RESS.ie ,more detailed books i have bought on world religions etc.)
Someone really needs to publish a proper book for this subject.
