Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking to buy a car from range listed: interested in feedback on reliability for above models or series for a purchase below 3K€, that would lead to a range of ages from before 2000 to 2003 (for laguna and C5) and a fair amount of mileage in some cases.
What do you think, any model more reliable than others?
    thanks in advance.
ps: the % series is 5 series from BMW

Out of that list I'd definately go with the 5 Series.

E Class - the W210 is a poor car, not well built, electrical and rust issues, not one of MB finer moments.

A6 - not a bad car to be honest but just not as good as the 5 Series.

Laguna II - disaster of car, lots of electrical problems, best avoided imo.

C5 - not as bad as the Laguna, can be hit and miss, comfortable car though.

5 Series (E39) - the best car in it's class at the time and most BMW buffs reckon it is the best car BMW ever made.

Thanks for advice. Converning 5 series i heard there are weaknesses in turbo and automatic gearbox if gearbox oil is not changed (but that is against BMW recommendations).
    any advice on that?
