Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Overly-red image on Nikon D300

    Hi Folks,
    I'm recently been taking a good few photos at christenings/birthdays etc.
    A lot of the image are coming out overly red - for example, people's faces look really red when, in real life, they look fine.

    I haven't changed anything on the camera, to my knowledge.
    Any ideas?

    Your white balance could be off. Try changing it and see if it makes a difference.

    Definitely a white balance issue, probably set to daylight while you're shooting under tungsten. Can you post an example?

    Can I ask is it on camera or on the computer. if its on camera then it is a wb issue if its on computer you need to recallibrate.

    White balance is set to auto. The image on the camera is too small for me to have noticed, by be fair. Don't just have an example to hand.
    Strange that it's only affecting reds...

    Best thing for you is to take it out and take a few sample images. Put the pics on the laptop and card back in the camera and compare one to the other. Often on my d300 my image is perfectly exposed but on screen it is under slightly as my screen is a tad bit bright but this can be seen by comparing one against the other.

    i know earlier nikons were slightly on the red side in general, and usually required some adjustment pp,tho didnt think it was with the d300

    Some more information please.

    Are we talking about the look of the default RAW file?

    If you are shooting JPEG, then what defaults have you selected in the D300?

    Have you tried doing a Factory Reset?
