Keyboard not recognising the first key I press

I am using a Logitech DiNovo Mac edition. The keyboard doesn't seem to register the first key I press if I haven't used the keyboard for a few seconds or if it does there's an input delay. It recognises each key after that. For example if I type "logitech" the word "ogitech" or "olgitech" will appear on screen. Any ideas…

Any ideas or is there an app I can download that will prevent this?

(My guarantee is up so I can't return it)
