Could anybody please help me as I have a piece of bog oak that my son wants to make into some ornaments. I was wondering how do I treat it before we use it? Thanks! Des.

Well I'd say you should treat it with respect and reverence, and maybe handle it gently.

Failing that, you could ask what to do in the woodcraft forum.
