My friend works for a television production company. They want to rent a warehouse for one night to throw an wrap party. The place will have to fit about 150 people comfortably.

He's finding it hard to find anything suitable through Daft.ie. I said I'd put up an appeal on Boards.

So, does anyone own an warehouse/similar property in the city that they'd be interested in renting?

Or does anyone have a friend that owns a small warehouse/similar property?

    Thanks.

I presume there's a specific reasont they're looking for a warehouse as opposed to a function room or nightclub but would most warehouses have the toilet facilities/heating that you'd need to have a party in?

Maybe gallery / studio spaces more appropriate than a bare warehouse
(unless the wrap party is simply a cover story for a rave)

Yeah, I think the BYOB is the main reason.

I say if it's small enough, you probably wouldn't need heaters? I'll remind about toilets!

Thanks for all the links. I suppose most of these close early though a la Block T?

To be honest, I suspect they want the 'rave' atmosphere but without the scumbags or bad techno. Just a very private, invite only wrap party.

I was at an event in one of the vaults behind the old Harcourt St railway station (The Odeon) and next to Park Place on Hatch Street. It was in one of the upper ones, so you could have bouncers on the stairs to avoid people coming in if you wanted.
    See second para here:

Presumably the letting agent would know about one-off nights there.

There's a place somewhere on Clarendon Street that people organise BYOB nights in too. Don't know the exact address though.

Yep, know that place. Lovely spot but again I don't think you'd be able to have an all night thing there.

Heard about a fundraising night there last summer that went on until about 6 or so. If you're not selling booze you can go all night.

    what does byob mean exactly

    Bring your own beer/bottle

If you're not selling booze in the venue you don't need a licence. It enables people to have events/parties running all night.

@1968 I just wished to check if you ever found anywhere? I am organising my wedding and really just want an empty warehouse space or empty barn that I can then do myself.
