Opinions on best pub grub in city area please.

I'm not looking for a free meal, but enough on a plate that I'm not still hungry when I leave.
And a bit of variety on the menu.

Value for money, say around a tenner. I'm not mean but I'm not loaded. So any ideas from experience?

Gingerman by a country mile is the best in the city IMHO. Even their Wraps/Paninni's are the best around although it's not huge and it can be busy.

After that Geoffs, The Munster and Revelutions are all worth a look.

If you're lookin for a good carvery you can't go wrong with paddy brownes, and I have a couple of mates who swear by the showboat

I'm quoting that, we have proof you said something good about Geoffs. :D

also both Geoffs and the Gingerman would get my vote

Don't forget I can Edit your post :)

Seriously, I actually do like the food in there. I also forgot abot the showboat even though it wouldn't IMO be the best in town but you get a serious feed in there for like €9 and again is worth a look.

Holy Cross is always good for carvery and looks really well now since the reopening!

Mansion House would be the best for carvery IMO. 9.50 euro cannot go wrong.
For paninis.wraps etc toss up between Geoffs and the Gingerman.

In saying that €5 for the special in the Halfway house is VFM.

Don't Geoffs charge €4 for a few leaves?

    Well lads, thanks for suggestions.

Looks like Half way house, Mansion and the Holy are what I'm after. I was waiting nearly 40 mins in the Gingerbread for a bowl of fish soup last week and won't be going back. And I'm afraid i don't like Geoffs. ( Sorry for upsetting you Zenith....)

Oh your not upsetting me I honestly couldn't care less,

I find it a Little strange that you seem to be a little passive aggressive considering I posted trying to help you.

However that  could somehow mean your having a laugh in which case I apologise.

I'm not from Waterford, and it's been 3years since I was in The Uluru, but it was top notch altogether
