Flue height for stove

Looking to install a multi fuel stove in a single storey extension that is on the back of my existing 2 storey terraced house. Extension has a pitched roof.

A bit confused about how high the flue should be in relation to next door.

According to the Dept. of Environment website it must be a least 1 metre above the gutter of the building its in and the flue will be approximately 8 and a half feet away from the old house and neighours house.

Am I ok to go 1-2 metres above the gutter on the extension or do I need to go way up to between gutter level and ridge tile level on the existing house. If so this flue is going to be very high and probably unstable.

    Anybody done anything similiar.

    Confused and thanks
