Well, it has been raised 11 times in the last 11 years so raising it again would only impoverish future generations of americans so probably the administration don't think it merits any concern.

How long before we see the local authorities ask for federal money? Are we talking years or months? What is the likely effect of a bailout for the profligate states? I would imagine the states keeping their spending in line with revenues will be quite annoyed.
