Keeper moved very very late for that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,174 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

Arshavin was definitely fouled in the build up but meh. I won't complain unless arse go out, at which point I will say it's the one and only reason they lost the tie.

Watch it again, the view from behind the goal, ball was in the air for a second before he moved. Not taking anything away from the strike, it was an absolute beauty and probably would not have been saved anyway

    what a strike indeed...

still see Arsenal winning by 2 Nasri to get 2more, for a hatrick

That was a joke of a decision not to give Arshavin a free out for Leeds goal, was a blatent foul.

Posts like this are why I wish there was a 'thumbs down' here as well as 'Thanks'.

No way I'm blaming the keeper for a goal like that.

    Sagnas scores a dinger.

Then Johnson blows his out of the water with an even better strike. Game got very open after the Leeds goal. I hope to god we can get a goal early doors now and settle the tie down some because you can bet Leeds are gonna come out all guns blazing.

Can't agree to be honest, he takes a couple of steps sideways so that he can get as far over as possible and he still had no chance of getting to it!

Apparently Johnson is an Arsenal fan that came through our academy too.

If ITV mention that Leeds goal shouldn't have stood I'll be amazed. Takes away from the magic of the cup. Although I've not watched much FA cup on ITV, is it just BBC that peddle that bullshít usually?

Arsenal absolutely murdered us for 35 minutes, we were never in it and were completely out played. Having said that the first goal was quite fortunate and the second one was the defence's fault for not closing down and Schmeichel for not pushing it out.

Truly wonderful strike by Johnson though out of no where to put us back in the match. The crowd have been lifted and so have the players.

We can not concede another goal though or it's over.

And went on to be a carpenter or so Andy Townsend told us, followed by this gem of "well he had all his angles covered for that goal"

I'm with Royale for this one; I'm not too bothered about the ref/lino missing the foul on Arshavin so long as we win. Should be 4-0 up to be honest. Chesney hasn't had a save to make whereas Kasper has made two top class saves already.

    bang on IMO.

Sagna was invited into the box to take that shot.

Don't think so. The ball that came to Nasri was meant for Chamakh and it was a little fortunate it got through to him. As for the second goal. Sagna has an age to hit it because the defence completely stood off him.

The Johnson gaol has put is right back in it and it was out of no where because we were playing terribly!

I won't be complaining either... but as of now, it's made the match a hell of a lot less comfortable for the next while compared to how it should be.

But crowd or no crowd, I'd like to see the players keep performing so that it doesn't matter one way or the other.

Gota look at your goalie if your beaten from 25 yards, does not matter how good the strike is.The fact he was unsighted meant all the difference here IMO

All I was saying is that ye were no more unfortunate to find yerselves 2 goals behind than ye were fortunate to pull one back.

That must be about the 5th time this season Arshavin has tried to pull of a shot like that and I don't think any of them have stayed in the stadium...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,346 ✭✭✭blindpilot

Arshavin has been so poor this season. Can't pass, can't shoot.

Wenger should sell arsh whilst the window is still open

He may not be the match winner we thought we had bought, but he still pops up with a few crucial goals and assists. I'd hold onto him until we have someone like Hazard lined up to take over from him.

Nice one, good to have just in case. If we're not winning or even only a goal to the good, they really need to be coming on with at least 20 minutes to go.

    Perfect timing :pac:

What a squad Arsenal have now.

That team out there tonight have been brilliant and they can still bring on players like Fabregas.
