    Hi Folks

Heres something thats pretty cool that all you good folks with a Philips Net TV may find of interest.

There is a app on the Apple App Store that you can download to your Apple iPhones/pads/pods and control your TV wirelessly via your router:)

Just search for PHILIPS WIRELESS TV REMOTE and it will pop up

I should mention that the App isnt by Philips so dont shout at us if you find it a little clunky!!!! I'm merely posting it up here as i think it may be of interest to some folks - I like the fact that you can send any image on your iPhone to the TV screen....

    Its free as well:D

According to the small print it should be compatiable with the first gen of Philips Net TV's as well - they will need some form of Firmware update to play ball however.

Here's a little link to the What HiFi web report
    http://www.whathifi.com/News/Philips-launches-TV-remote-app-for-iPad-iPhone-and-iPod-Touch/

I've had a play about with it instore on our 40PFL9705 and its got potential - may not be as slick as using the regular IR remote for every day use but i can see the Net TV side being useful esp as you can use the on board Apple iPhone keyboard rather than the virtual keyboard on the TV. I reckon iPad users will enjoying it with the larger keyboard - that will be cool

It only takes seconds to get to grips with and after you enter a numerical code into your TV your ready to roll.

So if you tend to loose the control of the TV remote to the other half this might be a solution - just hid the remote and blame it on the dog/kids and whip out your iPhone and offf you go!

    Worth checking out

    Cheers
    Ash

Got it working, its cool
and very handy the way you can display images from the iphone direct to the screen! Nearly as handy as the sky+ remote record app

Now if only I could get the marantz on the iphone too!

Installed it myself last night, straight forward enough.

Handy as a remote replacement but I prefer the tactile feel of the the normal one. But it is useful for net tv to enter text and as hicks said, being able to throw up an image on screen is very handy.
