Looking for a deep shower tray

We are hoping to take our bath out of the bathroom and just have a shower in there, but it would also be convenient if that shower could have a deep base for bathing the kids ones.

Anyone know where/if such a thing can be bought?

    Based in Dublin.

    Cheers

the only thing I can think of is like the compact bath/showers they have in caravans/mobile homes

Yeah, sounds like what I am after. Any idea where I could get one though?

Dont waste your time. You can get a deep shower tray but you cannot put a stopper in it So forget about bathing. Yes its 1.1/2" and you can use a kitchen sink stopper however this could lead to problems if you decide to shower in it.

With respect and curiosity....How was the idea conceived....

A plumber would have anticipated the problems here straight away

If you want a shower tray bath buy a "p" shower bath.

Make it a whirlpool for when the kids are gone to bed.

    Problem solved.

Thanks for that. The reason we want the deeper shower tray is our bathroom is small so wanted to invest in a decent shower and enclosure but with a deeper tray so the option is there for washing the kids. The P bath (just looked it up!) looks the biz but looks like it's still a standard bath size...in length?

Just re-read that and needed to add in that 'the option to wash the kids' is worded wrong!!!:D:D:D:D Meant the option for the kids to have, even a mini-bath is still there!!! :D

    With respect

It wont work from what i can tell and this is my reasoning

An adverage room is 2,46mtr a shower door is 1,85. You take 1.85 from 2.46 and that leaves you with .61 or 61cm to the ceiling. In lay persons terms thats 2ft, Thats before you fit the shower tray. I dont know if you can agree but for a couple of reasons i dont imagine you want the shower door touching the ceiling. The handle sill be shoulder height then.

Have you thought how deep you want the shower tray to spend a lot looking for a non standard product.

If you manage buy a "deep" shower tray its going to be specialised. Most likely the type they use in caravans. These are not made to be nice but made to be practical. The plastic is heavy duty and the quality is industrial. You will not be able to buy a nice door because of the reasoning above and the standard door that comes with them is awful

    But hopefully i am wrong.

Thanks a million for that, didn't think of the shower door being standard. Thought what I was looking for was more common that it is obviously!

    Thanks for the info/advice.

    Back to basics so!:(

PS will come back to you if we see something we like, we're in Clonee. Thanks

what about building a shower tray with concrete blocks and tiling it....you can have any size you want. Our showers trays are just a concrete ledge a couple of inches high, and the shower cubicle floor is also sloped with concrete. The floors are tiled with non-slip tiles....work great, seem safer under foot than any showers I have used.
Fair comment above about shower doors..unless you can get one that has a full-length grip along the edge rather than a handle.
    just a thought....
