Just wonderling lads whats the acceptable RX & DX levels for 30Meg broadband have a Scientific Atlanta Modem

Direct to cable on wall I get the following

    Receive Power Level -0.1 dBmV
    Transmit Power Level 53.4 dBmV

If I introduce a Splitter for analog tv I get the following

    Receive Power Level -3.2 dBmV
    Transmit Power Level 57.4 dBmV

Just wondering does this make any difference to speed etc?

Your transmit power is a little on the high side. 55dBmV would be on the edge of reliable provisioning.

Receive is fine, anything from -8dBmV to +8dBmV is the target range.

In saying that, unless you notice any problems, I wouldn't worry too much. Try an ftp download from ftp.heanet.ie and see how your speed holds up over a few minutes.
