Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    gentlemen

new year time to get a new welder, I will be using it for agri work and some small scale fabrication involved

these look good these these inverter fusions http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/shop/mma-welders.htm they seems to have a much higher duty cycle than everything else out there, is that a small bit unusual?

what other makes to consider lincoln parweld EWM will get the most powerful one I can while at it it won't be overheating

more importantly which makes to avoid, won't be using it a lot and would like to get a good few years out of it

PS auld lad has an transformer machine 25yrs old, is it possible that it could be jumping up and down 20-30amps when you stop start or is that just my imagination and due to my lack of technique

made a hole in a piece of 1in galvanised piping the weekend shortened arc and still couldn't fill it restarted 5mins later and welder would hardly light a cigarette filled hole no bother though

Dont do or know a lot about welding but i got a friend of mine to use his on a small bit ot work i needed done in a shed, they are very portable and handy, one thing i did notice was how bad the old wiring and the power supply is on the farm it did trip out a few times and also burnt out the fuses/ overheated at the plug. maybe that could be the problem with your old welder rather than the welder its self,

Get a 200 amp inverter . you can pick up a brand new one for around 350. These are generator(6kw plus) friendly and will burn 3.2mm rods all day long
