Sign is lit and looks ready to open very soon, tonight or tomorrow I'd say. Just what Galway needs, another takeaway!

It's in the spot Monroe's "Pizza Pizza" was, next door to Golden Rickshaw. They've been working on it inside for a couple of months. Says on the sign they do "Burgers, Chicken, Fish, Kebabs"... so not really specialising in Pizza.

I'll check it out when they open.

Charcoal wont be too happy if they are doing kebabs.

yeah, they might have to bring down their prices.

its just what we need, another fast food joint.

Charcoal is the biggest rip off in the world. Got a kebab in there once. Was about 8.50,I said alright,it must be huge. Tiny wee yoke. Never felt more ripped off.

    Charcoal is fairly poor alright.
The fillings are good, but I hate getting a crappy pita when I order a Kebab.
The new place beside eddie rockets, opened by two lads who used to work in charcoal, is the best kebabs in town. nan made in shop fresh every day.

    classy!

i notice abrakebakra never returned to galway. it had the reputation for being the dirties chipper in town

That was Abras second time in Galway. First lot pulled out as well. Franchise must be too expensive/too strict.

I perceive a huge pent-up demand for basic cookery classes judging by the amount of takeaway food posts on boards.

Most of their stuff is cheaper than Charcoal too. Watch out tho, their chilli sauce is hot.

    Boards has it all :D

    Cooking Club

This pizza shack has to have made Mary's St one of the most heavily take-awayed streets in Galway, Golden Rickshaw, Asian Teahouse, PS,Charcoal Grill and la Salsa.

Should be called the Fatten Quarter :D

Capital Kebab does some great falafel. Never got the obsession with charcoal grill myself.

Gave it a try, chicken burger meal. Chips were good, burger wasn't great. Overall it's not any cheaper than takeaways around or offer anything different or new unfortunately.

For a "pizza shack" it's surprising they have no pizza on the menu. Apparently the current menu is just a temporary job and pizza will be on the permanent one when it's up. Don't think I'll be back tho.

They have a vegi burger, chip pita, chips.....

Just to add my 2c, best kebabs ever in Galway were Anatolia's in Dominic street. They were only there for a year about 10 years back.
    Lamb kofte... Schlurp...

Anyone had a pizza from here yet. They seem great value compared to the 4stars and dominos of this world.

Not yet. That sign on the window is awful tacky though.
On another note, it looks like Abrakebabra/noodle place is undergoing another transformation. They were gutting it yesterday.

Hopefully they can stay open. Best location in the city, and they just screw it up every time. Hopefully it's not another Subway :P

Went one of the days before work to get something to eat. The portions in there are huge, couldn't finish half of what was put in front of me. Tried the pizza in there as well and it was lovely. big snackbox at the minute for a fiver is a good deal as well.

tried the regular taco chips with sauce from pizza shack, it was such a big portion, bf got the large and it couldve fed two people easily!! best taco chips we've had in galway too. worth the 4 or 5euro!

Yeah got pizza here, wasn't good unfortunately.

They're other food is good though so strange they have pizza as their title product so to speak. Their chips are very good, much much better than Charcoal.

Just had garlic chips and a veggie burger from there. Serious amount of chips alright :-o The 'small' portion was a full snack box of chips. Pat McDonagh would have a seizure if he saw it. The garlic was lovely and thick but they could have put a bit more on. Nuttin special about the veg burger once we established I didnt want bacon on it (she misheard my order) but it was grand and filling. Ive enough chips left over for a buttie tomorrow so value for money. Everything cooked from scratch as well.
Strangest thing about the whole thing was while I was waiting outside having a smoke the 'character' who goes around waving his arms and speaking in tongues came over and asked me for a cigarette in perfect english. I was so taken aback I gave it to him lol.
