Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just turned 25 and checked that i need 260 paid contributions to qualify. I've been working full time since october 2008 and for both summers prior to that.

I don't think that would make up 260? I'm pretty annoyed. Would i be able to make any sort of claim from prsi or tax payments. If it was a few months ago when i was 24, it looks like i could have been eligiblefrown.gif

In 2011, the Treatment Benefit Scheme is restricted to the medical and surgical appliances scheme, free dental examinations and free eyesight examinations.
you need 5 years contributions even for these schemes. why are you annoyed?

I'm annoyed because I can't afford 2 hearing aids at the moment so i guess i'll just have to suffer. I think i can claim 20% tax relief at the end of the year though?

So i also need to work full time for another 2 and half years before i can obtain a free eyetest which costs 30euro when my prsi is that every week..?

    Thanks.

im sorry your so frustrated. have you tried applying for a medical card? it may appear to you that you are financially over the limit to get a medical card, but if you go ahead and apply and ask the specialist dealing with your ear condition to write you a letter setting out your circumstances, plus make a good "case" for yourself in letter form, preferably in bullet points. good luck.
