Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd like to clone 2 external disks

    Hi All,
I've got 2 external 1TB disks via USB connections on my Windows XP machine.

    I've two questions...

    1) Cloning?
I'd like to clone them. Ideally I'd like to run it continually or every few hours. Most files are JPGs, Word and Excel etc. On occasion I'll have various databases running eg Access, Postgres and MYSQL.

    2) Is there a device available that'll allow conversion from USB to Ethernet?
I would like to plug both disks into a router and have network access to them.

I suppose what I'm really looking for is distant cousin of RAID, but as I have USB disks already not much point buying more.

    Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any ideas and advice.

    Andy

I've heard good things about Clonezilla, although I'm sorry to say I've never used it!

You could buy a NAS casing (like the Netgear Stora range).

Then, crack out the hard drives from your existing USB drives and pop them in.
